- Japanese 403: Pre-Capstone
Reflective Narrative: To meet the requirements for this MLO I took. few Japanese culture courses during my time at California State University Monterey Bay. One of my favorite classes was the History of Japan course that I took during my Junior year. This class provided me with a lot of knowledge about Japan that I did not know before, it was also taught in Japanese, so I was also able to increase my language skills at the same time. Through learning about the history of a culture I am better able to understand why they do the things they do and behave the way they do. another course, Japanese Pop-Culture, also allowed me to delve deeper into certain aspects of the Japanese culture. Even though this was a pop-culture class we still learned a lot of various parts of the Japanese culture. We learned how Japan has had a lot of influence on other countries and why Japanese culture is so popular even outside of Asia. Culture courses are my favorite, so I am glad I was able to complete some of them during my time as a university student.
